The New iPad: Unveiled, Apparently Even Awesomer

After months of speculation, Apple unveiled “the new iPad” this morning.
Those quotation marks are properly used. That’s its name. Or at least what it was called by CEO and Steve Jobs successor Tim Cook in San Francisco, Calif.
Many sites (THG among them) have been referring to it as the iPad 3, iPad HD, or some iteration of that name. But apparently it’s just the new iPad.
The changes may disappoint Apple fanatics hoping for a radically redesigned gadget. But given the iPad’s huge success, a few upgraded features go a long way.
The iPad’s rank as the world’s top tablet and Apple’s status as the world’s most valuable company shouldn’t be threatened anytime soon, in other words.

Paula Deen Lawsuit: Chef Reponds, Denies "Baseless" Allegations

suing for sexual harassment and being subjected to a hostile work environment is making false allegations.
Deen’s camp says Lisa Jackson only made the claims after rebuffing attempts to resolve the matter amicably, and after the chef refused to pay her to keep quiet.
The lawsuit, filed Monday, “makes false allegations against Paula Deen and they will be proven false in court,” said a statement from the firm representing Deen.
The law firm said the suit was filed in a local court after the Southern cooking star and Type 2 diabetic refused to pay the woman to “address false claims.”
Attorneys for Jackson, a former general manager at the restaurant, didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment regarding Deen’s rebuttal.
Jackson said her doctor encouraged her to quit managing Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House in Savannah, Ga., due to panic attacks and other stress.
The restaurant is owned by Paula Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers.
Jackson, who is white, said in the lawsuit that Hiers routinely made inappropriate sexual remarks and that she heard Heirs and Deen using racial slurs.
Deen’s law firm said that she had investigated Jackson’s claims and had unsuccessfully attempted to reach out and address them with her.
“She has made baseless, inflammatory allegations, threatening to go to the press and ruin Paula Deen’s reputation,” the firm’s statement said.
After she allegedly demanded a large cash payout, “we refused to bow to that kind of pressure and refused to pay money to address false claims.”
Jackson’s lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

Ashton Kutcher Supports Rumer Willis, Attends Los Angeles Concert

With Demi Moore out of rehab and back in Los Angeles, Ashton Kutcher is making his presence felt once again in the life of his ex-wife.
Sources confirmed yesterday that the actor visited his troubled former spouse recently, and now various onlookers also report that Kutcher lent his support to Rumer Willis last night.
Kutcher and a friend stopped by The Sayers Club in Los Angeles around midnight and “immediately joined Rumer’s large table,” a witness tells Us Weekly, as Ashton was on hand to cheer Willis on during the aspiring singer’s set on stage.
The quasi relatives talked for a few moments before Willis performed.
And once the show began, Kutcher “smiled as he slowly bopped his head along to her song,” this source adds. “He kept his arms crossed and never took his eyes off the stage. Ashton looked like a proud father. He was beaming!”
He wasn’t alone. Other celebrities in attendance included Revenge stars Ashley Madekwe, Connor Paolo and Christa B. Allen, along with Jessica Szohr and Sebastian Stan.

Chris Brown: Loving Rihanna-Karrueche Tran Tension!

The ladies in Chris Brown’s life, girlfriend, Karreuche Tran, and ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, may or may not be trading social media barbs in an escalating public feud.
Either way, he’s loving life these days.
Maybe it’s a welcome distraction in Brown’s life now, with the iPhone theft investigation and all. Maybe it’s just nice to have his ego stroked. Maybe both.
In any case, Brown and Rihanna have reportedly been hooking up for months, despite him dating Karreuche Tran … called “an open relationship” by some.
However, (perceived) trouble began when Rihanna tweeted a photo of a bag of rice cakes with gold earrings, and the caption, “Ima a make u my bitch.”
Some interpreted that as a racial jab at Karrueche Tran, who is Vietnamese.
Maybe she was just hungry after a show? Who knows. But in return, the aspiring model fired off several missives on Facebook aimed directly at Rihanna.
In one, she wrote:
“Let me clear the air, if you have fenty at the end of ya name or your default Is Rihanna you have a better chance of winning the lottery than ending up on my friends list.”
BAM. Oh, but it continues.
Meanwhile, Brown is loving every minute of this.
“This is all very flattering to Chris. Name me a 21-year-old red blooded male that wouldn’t love having two women fighting over him,” a source said.
NOTE: We can’t actually find a Karrueche Tran Facebook page that looks authentic, or any proof of Rihanna egging her on. So interpret this as you will.
Given the suggestive nature of Brown’s collaborations with Rihanna, and the fact that he was at her birthday party, you do have to wonder, however …
When Will The Voice Crown a New Champion?

teams have been chosen. The battle rounds have begun. And when will it all come to an end?
NBC announced today that The Voice will crown its season two champion on a two-hour live episode airing May 8. Moreover, the competition will expand to twice/week beginning on April 2, as performance episodes will air on Mondays and will be followed by one-hour result shows on Tuesday nights at 9 EST.
In other network programming news, Howard Stern will debut as a judge on America’s Got Talent a week after The Voice signs off.
The controversial radio host will take his place alongside Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel on May 14. Are you excited for his presence on the panel?

In the latest issue of Maxim, Jennifer Love Hewitt utters the understatement of the century.
Asked about her favorite body part, the actress gets right to it with the magazine and replies: “I like my boobs. They’ve always served me well. They’re good.”

Come September, Justin Bieber will no longer be his family’s only author.
The superstar, who signed a second book deal last month, will soon need to make room for his mother, Pattie Mallette. Her memoir “Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom,” will come out on 9/18/12 and center on her journey from a troubled teen… to the single parent of a global sensation.
Referring to others that have suffered through similar experiences – abuse, trauma, addiction – Pattie says of the book: “I want them to see that no matter how desperate their circumstances may be, they can have hope for a better future.”
Agrees Jennifer Leep, the editorial director at publishing company Revell:
“Pattie’s story is a powerful example of courage and determination that will inspire anyone who has faced struggles in life. She’s living proof that even in the darkest of places, there is always room for hope.”

Whitney Houston Will Leaves Everything to Bobbi Kristina

Whitney Houston may have died unexpectedly on February 11, but the singer at least had the good fortune to plan ahead.
In a 19-page document obtained by Inside Edition, it’s revealed that Whitney left absolutely everything to her teenage daughter. This includes personal wealth, furniture, clothing jewelry and cars.
The money will be placed in a trust – with Whitney’s mother, Cissy, serving as executor – until Bobbi Kristina, who turned 19 on March 4, is 21 years old. She then gets more cash when she turns 25 and the rest when she’s 30.
Houston initially drafted the will in 1993, but amended it to the current version in April 2000.
Bobbi Kristina, meanwhile, will sit down with Oprah Winfrey for her first interview since her mom’s passing this Sunday evening on OWN.
