Precious Actress Gets A New Job!!

Oh!!! This sounds so good!!
Suck it, Howard Stern!
Gabourey Sidibe, the Oscar-nominated star of Precious, has just signed on to be a reccuring guest star on a new Showtime series starring Laura Linney and Oliver Platt!!
The half hour dark comedy, called The Big C, revolves around Cathy (played by Linney) a Connecticut wife and mom who reclaims her life after she is diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Sidibe will reportedly be portraying a student in Cathy’s class who has some major ‘tude.
We will TOTALLY be checking this out!!
Not only are Linney and Sidibe FANTASTIC, but the show definitely sounds like a great addition to the Showtime line-up!!

Two Of The World’s Oldest People Pass Away Only Hours Apart

This is kind of a bummer.
Two of the oldest people in the world passed away this past Sunday – and only HOURS apart.
What are the odds of that??!
Mary Joesphine Ray, who was the oldest living person in the USA, died at 114 in New Hampshire.
She apparently had remained ACTIVE until about two weeks before her passing!
AMAZING!
Her granddaughter, Katherine Ray, said:

“She just enjoyed life. She never thought of dying at all. She was planning for her birthday party.”

Daisey Bailey, who was just a month shy of 114, died hours later in Detroit. She was unfortunately suffering from dementia.
L. Stephen Coles, director of the Gerontology Research Group, said:

“It’s very rare that two of our supercentenarians die on the same day.”

Yeah, seriously. WOW.
So, so sad.
It must be hard to outlive your family and friends, but we hope they both lived full and happy lives!
We sincerely hope Mary and Daisey are somewhere at peace.

J-Kras Likely To Be Captain America!

Good for him — this could be a big role!
John Krasinski is rumored to be Marvel’s top choice for the lead role in The First Avenger: Captain America to be released in the summer of 2011!
A source reveals:

“John has read 4 times and is doing screen tests. He has screen tested 2 times so far. It’s very likely that he will be the new Captain America. He is a favorite among the key decision makers and has been asked to come back for more this week.
“The big bosses are having him read with multiple actresses up for the female leads. They want to lock down the role and then they will narrow down everyone else.”

His salary wouldn’t be insane, but it would definitely be a multi-film deal as the first film is the “origin story” showing how Steve Rogers became Captain America.
Sounds like a pretty good deal for the guy from The Office!

Ryan Seacrest’s Stalker Is Heading To The Looney Bin!

This morning, Chidi Uzomah, otherwise known as Ryan Seacrest’s stalker, pled no contest to felony stalking and was sentenced to 3 months psychiatric evaluation at Chino State Prison in California.
Aw! But that means he’ll miss the American Idol finale! Bummer!
After that, Chidi faces up to 2 years in prison for his crimes.
If it’s any consolation, by that time, Idol might be off the air, so you don’t have to worry about missing anything.

Pixie princess Carey Mulligan showed up alone to the Academy Awards, which surprised us, as she’s been publicly dating Shia LaBeouf since they met on the set of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
HOWEVER, the Oscar nominated actress couldn’t have been missing him TOO much, because she was reportedly seen getting pretty cozy with fellow nominee Jeremy Renner, who is recently single and already being linked to Charlize Theron and Jessica Simpson!!
Watch out, girlfriend!! You don’t want to incur the wrath of Shia AND the Simpleton – sexual naplam is STILL napalm!!

Creationism Getting The 3-D Hollywood Treatment!!

We think they may want to re-work this as an end-of-days story, because this sounds like it’s going to be a DISASTER!!
Paramount Pictures is planning a 3-D retelling of the Book of Genesis’ story of creation, which will be called In The Beginning!!
If you’re unfamiliar with the Bible story, the film will center around the weeklong period it took God to create the world, which ended with Adam and Eve on Day Six, and God chilling out for the 24 hour period afterward.
Producers think the 3-D visuals and $30 million proposed budget will attract families and religious-minded audiences, and we think they’re probably right!!
We don’t know though…is the the latest Hollywood gimmick the best way to retell a Bible story?? If they eff it up people are going to FREAK.

Far beyond the glitz, glam and gossip of LaLa Land, there are still those who are important in the world that do naughty, naughty things.
Take, for example, France’s President and First Lady, Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni. Their romance was the stuff of fairytales, but they’ve turned into the stuff of tabloid legends.
Apparently, both Nicolas and Carla have been engaging in extramarital affairs, with the other’s knowledge! According to sources, Carla has been seeing a lot of French singer Benjamin Biolay while her husband, Monsieur President, has taken up with one his cabinet members, right-wing politician Chantal Jouanno.
Scandalous! The French know how to keep things juicy!
