When and where, we don’t know, but it is happening!
Fans of M.I.A. have been waiting patitently for her to get her ass back to the Big Apple after her gig at the HARD festival went terribly awry! The rapper had promised that the next time she was in town, she would put on a free show for all her dedicated fans, but still, nothing has been planned yet.
There were some kerfuffles about M.I.A. putting on a ticketed show towards the end of the month and that put fans in a tizy, but a source deep in her camp says that the show is still in the works and will be happening. According to the insider:
“They are working on details, place, and date, so I don’t have info on it yet. Stay tuned.”
There you go then. Stay tuned! Hopefully, she won’t make you wait too much longer!

Oh, whatever, boys!
You guys sold out segued shamelessly into mainstream with Only By The Night, don’t act like you’re so ‘above’ popular culture now!
Kings Of Leon‘s frontman Caleb Folowill revealed that he and the band rejected opportunities for their music to be performed on Glee, as well as Ugly Betty (R.I.P.) and various movie trailers!
He says:
“We had some people call us up wanting to know if we’d allow Use Somebody to appear in the trailer for their next movie, and we turned them down. Next day, they called back and tried to put us through to the star of the movie — I won’t name names, but he’s an incredibly famous actor — to let him try and convince us to agree to do it. I was like, ‘Man, don’t even waste your energy’.”
Oh, wow! You guys are sooooo cool!
BARF.
We sincerely hope they aren’t going to take the MGMT and M.I.A. route and shit all over all of their fans, because they’d rather be nonconformist and ‘above’ mainstream instead of focusing on making decent music!
So lame!

M.I.A. must have realized how shiteous her show at the HARD FEST over the weekend was, because she’s taken to her Twitter account to apologize for the technical complications, weather, and her piss poor attitude and is claiming that she’ll be making up the performance for everyone she pissed off!
She tweeted:

if u do me a lil dance , ill let u in too!

M.I.A. BLOWS Performance At Hard Fest NY, Spits On Photographer!

Well, we think it’s safe to say that she’s completely jumped the shark.
M.I.A., who was the top-billed performer over the weekend at the HARD FEST on Governor’s Island in NYC, reportedly blew her much-anticipated set so badly that even her most adamant supporters bailed five tracks in!
Although there were apparently a myriad of technical problems, according to an anonymous concert goer:
“mia [sucked] so bad, she must must have done [it] on purpose. she’s got some tricks and some ideas, but [I] think she just got so cagey when die anterwoord blew her out of the water that she pulled this weird ass rockstar theatrics and sabotaged herself and the sound system, along with throwing a big fuck you to the crowd that actually came to see her. [I] mean at some point before she went on, they cut the Dj off and there was this whole sound from the backstage VIP area, and the crowd got [to] listen to it for a few minutes in silence, and it was like “that’s were the party is at, suckers”. I don’t know if she drinks or not, but the bit about having a shot of [tequila] in her seemed by far the realest part of the night. The best was the rain over the lazers, but she didn’t even know how to make that to work for her, so it seemed like Nature taking pity on her.”
OUCH!
And, as you can see by photos (above) she even took it upon herself to hock a loogie onto a photographer in the audience!
Lovely! We think ostracizing your fans and supporters by putting out an effortless, piece of garbage album and harassing your audience is a great way to advance your career, bb!
That is, if you even have one after this.
We’re not sure she can even turn this whole mess around anymore.

M.I.A.’s Producer Slams Her New Album, Claims She Didn’t Care About Music!

Wow! Well this answers a lot of questions!
M.I.A.‘s new album, ///Y/, has been getting a lot of unfavorable reviews, but the latest is coming from an unlikely source – one of her producers, Diplo, who alleges that the rapper didn’t give a shiz about any of the mindless noise she threw onto the record!
He reveals:
“She didn’t care about it. I was in the studio with her, she didn’t write anything. Me and Switch tried our best to be quality control of the record and she didn’t want that. She kind of went on her own way. I was like, Look, nobody in your crew—we were the only people she could trust, and our asses were on the line too. We got here because of working with people like her. We care about the way things sound, and when the people that she works with don’t, then it’s fucked up. She’s got a talent in every aspect. She’s got ideas bigger than any artist I’ve ever met and she’s someone to fuckin’ make that happen. All she has is a bunch of yes men around her and they kinda suck. I burned like twenty bridges with her. I build my own bridges, it doesn’t matter. I’m honest. As soon as she comes to terms with what she does then we can work again. One of us has to be like, We fucked up, and then we can do it again.”
Wow! Sounds like he’s pretty embarrassed with the quality of the music!
We can’t say we blame him!
Hopefully M.I.A. will get her head out of her ass next time around, and focus more on making music then doing whatever she can to be against the grain!

M.I.A. Calls On Clinton For Visa Help

M.I.A. has enlisted the help of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in her ongoing visa battles, after authorities refused the rapper’s mother permission to visit her newborn grandson.
The Paper Planes hitmaker has clashed with immigration officials over her own status after courting controversy with her comments about political unrest in Sri Lanka.
Now the star’s family has been dragged into the visa dispute – her mother Kala tried to visit M.I.A.’s baby son Ikhyd but was blocked from entering America, prompting the rapper to call on Clinton for help.
She tells Q magazine, “They’ve singled me out. They said my mom would be fine if I just apologized to the Sri Lankan embassy. Which I’m not gonna do. It’s not like she actually knows how to make a f**king bomb, strap it on and walk into Tesco’s (supermarket)… We’ve had Hillary Clinton involved. Hills got back (to us) and she was like, ‘You know, it happens…’”
