Kanye West continues to move forward with his fan-centric attitude, and we continue to like it!
Last Friday night, Kanye announced via twitter his upcoming collaboration with Jay-Z:
“Me and jay bout to drop a 5 song album called ‘Watch The Throne.”
On the same day as his announcement, Kanye also dropped one of the tracks from the EP, Monster, which included vocals from Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon.
We’re excited about this path you’re traveling on, Kanye, but first you want to collaborate with Justin Bieber? Now Bon Iver? We MAY begin to get nervous if next we hear of an impending Miley Cyrus collaboration.

Jay-Z Teams With Yankees For Clothing Line

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has teamed up with bosses of the New York Yankees baseball franchise to release a limited edition line of co-branded clothing.
The Brooklyn-born rapper scored a home run when his Empire State of Mind duet with Alicia Keys became an unofficial Big Apple anthem, and was adopted byYankees fans as they cheered on the baseball team to win the championship last year.
Now Jay has signed a deal to lend his name to a line of baseball caps, T-shirts, hooded sweat shirts and other memorabilia that will be sold exclusively at Yankee Stadium from 30 August to 14 September.
The attire, which will include Yankees and Jay-Z logos, was created to commemorate the first official concerts at the new Yankee Stadium on 13 and 14 September, which Jay-Z and Eminem will co-headline – following the pair’s two performances in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan on 3 and 4 September.
The deal isn’t Jay’s first venture into the sports arena – he’s also co-owner of the New Jersey Nets basketball team.

Jay-Z has topped a new hip-hop rich list, almost doubling Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ fortune in the process.

The rapper and entrepreneur reigns supreme at the top of Forbes magazine’s latest Hip-Hop Cash Kings list with a 2009/2010 fortune of an estimated $63 million .
Combs comes in second with $30 million, while Akon lands at number three with $21 million.

Jay-Z needs to update his song 99 Problems, because it REALLY doesn’t seem like he has too many problems at all!
At earnings of $63 million for the past 12 months, Jay-Z gets the title of #1 Hip-Hop Cash King by far. The list is based upon numbers from several music industry sources, including Nielsen, Billboard, and Pollstar.
Jay-Z’s earnings derive from not only tremendous album sales, but also his earnings from his worldwide tour, the 40/40 nightclub chain, and his stake in the New Jersey Nets basketball team.
Trailing far behind Jay-Z is P. Diddy, who earned the #2 spot with $30 million through album sales, television and film roles, his liquor brands, and Diddybeats ear-bud sales.
Following behind Diddy is Akon at $21 million, Lil Wayne at $20 million, Ludacris at $16 million, Kanye West at $12 million, and 50 Cent at $8 million, who took a break from music work to take on film roles.
While she’s not a male Hip-Hop recording artist, Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce blew absolutely everyone out of the water this year, with $87 million in earnings! Pretty damn impressive…maybe they should give her an honorary place on the Cash Kings list just because she’s that awesome.

Rapper T.I. is hoping to transition from a rapping career to a prestigious acting career in Hollywood, even hoping to get an Oscar before he’s 40!
29-year-old T.I. says, “I want to have an Oscar by then (40). I want to have made my mark in film as a producer and actor by the time I’m Jay‘s or Eminem‘s age.”
Pretty ambitious goal!
