This menace must be stopped! We’ve posted a photo (above) with the real Joaquin Phoenix on the upper left, surrounded by a few people we think are solid suspects.
A Joaquin Phoenix Impostor has been reportedly making red carpet appearances at the Toronto International Film Festival, and he’s been doing it in style.
According to Phoenix’s PR team, the Impostor has been arriving at venues by limo with a “massive entourage of security and scantily clad female groupies.”
If this is all a hoax, it’s a damn elaborate one, not to mention a damn fun one, and we are impressed!

Disney/Pixar To Bring You Dr. Strange Flick?

It’s about time people start talking about Disney’s latest acquisition. What’s the point of buying Marvel Comics if you aren’t going to make any movies?!
Comic book artist Brendan McCarthy suggested in a recent interview that Disney’s first Marvel flick out of the gate could be a CGI Doctor Strange movie in collaboration with Pixar. The artist explains his meeting with Disney execs to discuss the adaptation:
“I was over in Hollywood earlier this year mooching about, and I had a meeting at Disney and the conversation drifted around to Pixar animating a Doctor Strange movie… Now, wouldn’t that be nice.”
Sure, if the story is good. Plus, we have a hard time seeing the Pixar people getting into doing a strictly superhero movie. Ya know, they are more about the whole family-friendly angle and not everyone is going to love the tale of the unusual, super human magician. But we imagine Pixar is up to the technical challenges.

He’s blowing up!
Joel McHale, the host of The Soup and star of the HIGHlarious sitcom Community, has landed a part in Robert Rodriguez‘s Spy Kids 4!
He’ll allegedly portray Jessica Alba‘s husband, who is a spy-hunting reporter.
We honestly can’t even believe that a fourth one of these things is being made, but at least they’re securing a decent cast!
Even YESsica! She’s not half bad, you know, when the content is of a lighter fare!

Carrie Underwood Getting Into Acting – Of Course!

Or rather, getting back into it!
A long, long time and several dozens of Grammys ago, Carrie Underwood starred in a little movie called Soul Surfer. Never heard of it? Well, Carrie would have preferred it that way since for years she vowed to stick to singing after seeing how awful she was in the flick.
But then recently, she watched the movie again and it turns out, she doesn’t think she was half bad. Does this mean we should expect to see Carrie pull a Timberpussy turn for the worse to the movies sometime soon?
Maybe, but not right now. Carrie admits that she is just not ready to “carry” a film yet.
Good call! Stick to the music! If you want to act, make more elaborate music videos. Trust us, this is sound career advise!

Casey Affleck Denies That Joaquin Phoenix’s Behavior Is A Hoax!

We just don’t know WHAT to believe about this whole mess!
Anyone who has paid attention to Joaquin Phoenix in the past few years knows what bizarre direction his life has taken, prompting many to speculate that his shenanigans are all an elaborate publicity stunt for the ‘documentary’ he’s the subject of, I’m Still Here, directed by Casey Affleck!
But Affleck has shot such talk down, and maintains:
“I can tell you that there is no hoax. That never even entered into my consciousness until other people began to talk about the movie.”
Really, though, bb?
Maybe Joaquin just left him out of the joke, too!

Cult film legend Bruce Campbell is planning a horror movie in the vien of The Expendables. It would have the best of horror movie actors in one film.
He said:
“Yeah, The Expendables, or more like the It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World of horror. I want to get so many horror movie stars that people can’t possibly not see the movie. I want to give them other stuff to do.
I want to have Kane Hodder be very particular about what he eats. I want Robert Englund to be a tough guy, like he knows tae kwon do or something. I want to find out the hidden sides of all these people. Some will play themselves, some will play alternate characters as well. I may approach Kane Hodder to play Frankenstein. He could be Kane Hodder himself fighting himself as Frankenstein. It could be crazy. It’s a silly concocted story that we hope to do maybe in a year or so.
My breaks between Burn Notice have been getting tighter because they’ve been adding episodes. They’re trying to trap me like a rat in the TV world, and I might just let them. There’s a script, it just kind of blows right now, so no one’s really seeing it. We gotta work on it. Definitely shoot in Oregon all on a stage. It’s like the 300 of horror comedies. We want to make it a whole world. Someone’s gotta take Frank down for good.”
LOLz. Let’s just home he gets the time to finish that shiteously amazing script!
James Cameron To Make 3D Movie About Brazilian Tribes

James Cameron is the king of 3D.
This year he will be traveling to the rain forests of Brazil to shoot a 3D documentary about indigenous people of the Amazon trying to stop the construction of a large dam that will make their land a potential flood zone.
“I want to return to meet some of the leaders of the Xikrin-Kayapo tribe who invited me,” said Cameron. “I want to take a 3D camera to film how they live, their culture.”
It sounds sort of like a real-life Avatar, except without giant blue people. We can’t wait!

More Twilight Coming After Breaking Dawn?!?!?!?

A little while back, we announced the mortifying news that the release date was set for the final Twilight movie ever!
Now, there MAY be a bit of sparkling light at the end of that bleak, bleak tunnel.
Rumors have surfaced about Summit Entertainment looking to adapt Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner into a feature film after Breaking Dawn.
Here’s what an insider has said about the project:
“It goes without saying Summit want to continue this franchise… Tanner is the one they’re looking at post-Breaking Dawn… It’s too early to talk casting, and everything we’re hearing is just speculation or off a wish list, but I don’t believe they plan on using the original actress, Jodelle Ferland, for the spin-off film. It’s all about numbers and names — you guys know that.”
All still just a rumor at this point, but we’d be shocked if Summit WASN’T planning to continue the Twilight franchise in as many ways as possible.
Aside from Bree Tanner, we’re sure there will be plenty more Twilight to be seen after Breaking Dawn, including director’s cuts, theatrical re-releases, TV spin-offs, toys, games, and perhaps even an amusement park. Hey, it worked with Harry Potter!

JGL Does GaGa…Puts The BAD In Bad Romance

Last time we watched JGL, he was tightrope walking across that fine line between “awesome” and “creepy.” We may have reached a verdict on that one.
During the final episode of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Summer In The City series on hitRECord, JGL decided to cover Lady GaGa’s Bad Romance, and to be perfectly honest, we think it kinda sucked.
We’re well aware that JGL has a rabid following of fans who worship the ground he smokes pot on walks on, but then again, Scientology has the same type of fanbase, and that doesn’t make it any less “creepy.”
There! We said it! As far as we’re concerned, JGL has officially landed in creepy territory. Maybe if he had wowed us with his GaGa cover, we’d give him the benefit of the doubt, but it just didn’t happen.
Tell you what, JGL…send us an impressive cover of Cee-Lo Green’s F#CK You, and we’ll give very serious consideration to reassessing where we stand on your awesomeness/creepiness.
