France Fights Music Piracy With Revolutionary Program!

In order to stop music piracy, France will be subsidizing the legal downloads with its new Carte Musique program.
The European Commission approved the plan earlier this week, which will give 12 to 25-year-olds the chance to buy a €50 gift card for the price of €25. The French government will pay the difference.
Participants will be allowed to purchase one card per year and the program will last two years. And the sites that accept the cards are expected to lower prices for music downloads, provide offers to extend music subscription services and contribute towards Carte Musique advertising.
The government expects 1 million cards to sell each year.

Rumors are swirling that Dina Lohan is shopping around an interview for Lindsay after she leaves rehab.
Sources say that her asking price is “in the high five figures,” but the fee would include allowing cameras to film Dina as she visited Lindsay at the Betty Ford Center this weekend. None of the proceeds will go to charity.
It has also been said that she is shopping a reality show on the recent drama, but source close to Dina claim, “there is absolutely no truth to this.”
Only time will tell.

Xanadu star Marty Thomas filed papers in NYC to reveal the person behind the salacious Twitter feed, bwayanonymous.
“Which Avenue Q cast member gave Marty Thomas crabs?” Tweeted bwayanonymous.
Of course, Thomas called the accusations “false” and “malicious” while denying the claim.
“I do not suffer from, nor have I ever suffered from a sexually transmitted disease,” he wrote in the court papers. “Clearly, there is no doubt that other people in the Broadway community saw and were affected by the statement.”
The anonymous Twitter feed has since been disabled, but not before a few parting words.
Bwayanonymous Tweeted:
“Before ‘damages’ even become relevant, you have to prove something was libelous or slanderous in nature. So if someone posts something that is actually true, or posts it in a way that doesn’t assert it as a fact, then it isn’t libel, or slander. It just means that you have to stop acting like a moron if people finding out about it damage your career.”

Sean Connery Doesn’t Show In Spanish Court

Although he was supposed to testify in a money laundering investigation, Sean Connery failed to show for his testimony in a Spanish court on Friday.
Connery, along with his wife Micheline, were set to take the stand, but the actor sent a letter informing the court that he could not travel due to age and unspecified health problems.
The two purchased a $8.4 million home in Marbella in 1998, but allegedly did not pay $2 million to the local authority. The property was demolished and a 72-apartment complex was put in it’s place, despite that they did not have permission to do so. The condos were said to have earned a $75 million profit.
A court worker said:
Mr Connery has informed the court in writing he won’t be coming today. He has cited health reasons and his advanced age and said he has not been able to prepare the journey in time.
The court is now considering its next move. The emission of an international arrest warrant is a possibility but a remote one. The most likely scenario is that the investigating magistrate will make a formal request through a rogatory commission to question Sir Sean at his home.
The logistics of this will become clearer next week. It could be that a delegation goes to the Bahamas to quiz him. The other option would be that a team based locally is tasked to interview him.
Sean and Micheline deny any allegations of money laundering.

Justin Bieber Under Investigation For Punching A Kid In Canada

Oh, Justin! Say it ain’t so!
Justin Bieber is in some trouble after the owner of a laser tag center in Richmond, B.C. kicked the pop singer out of his establishment after a 12-year-old boy complained that Justin had punched him in the face.
Staff from the Planet Lazer Entertainment Center said that “Bieber was being followed around and heavily targeted during the game.”
Sources have confirmed that the 12-year-old boy was hurt, but also says, “I can not confirm the identity of the other party.”
A news station is now saying that he “might be under investigation.”
This doesn’t seem like the Justin we know.
Maybe it was all just a big misunderstanding or someone is lying???

Leave It To Beaver’s Mom Barbara Billingsley Passes Away

Barbara Billingsley of Leave It to Beaver died Saturday at the age of 94.
Billingsley was most known for her portrayal of the classic TV mom, June Cleaver.
Judy Twersky, a family spokeswoman said that Billingsley had died of polymyalgia, a rheumatoid disease, at her home in Santa Monica, CA.
The actress had spoken fondly of Leave It to Beaver, saying that her character “was a loving, happy stay-at-home mom, which I think is great” and that “it was a happy experience for me, and very timely.”
She is survived by her two sons, Drew Billingsley and Glenn Billingsley, Jr.
So sad. We’ll miss America’s favorite mom.
