Stars React To Wall Street Protest Clearance
Nov 15th
Stars including Tom Morello, Kathy Griffin and Eli Roth have taken to the internet to express their shock after police swooped on the Occupy Wall Street camp in New York in a bid to clear out the protesters.

The demonstrators hit headlines back in September when they took up residence in Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park to protest against corporate greed, and the campaign has gained celebrity supporters including Russell Brand, Kanye West and Jay-Z.
Officers of the New York Police department raided the park in the early hours of Tuesday morning in a bid to evict the protesters, with officials declaring the camp “poses an increasing health and fire safety hazard”.
A number of stars have now taken to Twitter.com to share their opinion on the unfolding drama, which was witnessed by comedienne Kathy Griffin during a late night walk around the city.
She writes, “Whoa! On my late nite (sic) NYC walk. Passed Zuccotti Park, saw a large group of people running. NYPD walking in formation in riot gear.”
Rage Against The Machine star Morello, who recently performed for a group of ‘Occupy’ protesters in London, writes, “NYPD is raiding Liberty Square right now! Occupy Wall Street,” while model/actress Milla Jovovich expressed her outrage: “WTF (what the f**k)!!! (You) have got 2 B (sic) kidding me!”
Actor/director Eli Roth kept a close eye on news coverage of the event and gave his Twitter.com followers regular updates.
He writes, “A real life horror movie is unfolding in NYC as police tear apart OWS camp… All the anger against corruption has pitted NYC’s finest against its citizens. It’s all so painful to watch from afar. Stay strong NYC…”
He later added, “Goodnight all. Hope NYC’s still standing when I wake up. Be safe NYC.”

Fox Accuser Wants Countersuit Dismissed
Nov 15th
The female bus driver who accused Matthew Fox of assaulting her in August has filed papers demanding the actor’s countersuit against her is dismissed.

The Lost star attempted to board a party bus in Ohio when he was confronted by driver Heather Bormann because his name was not on the private guestlist.
A scuffle ensued and Fox was accused of hitting Bormann, while the female driver allegedly punched the actor in the face. Fox was detained by police but not formally arrested.
Just weeks later, Bormann sued the actor, accusing him of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, but Fox hit back with a countersuit claiming the driver provoked him and subsequently subjected him to “public hatred, contempt, ridicule and shame” due to the media fallout.
Bormann is refusing to accept Fox’s lawsuit, branding his claims “baseless, impertinent, scandalous, and frivolous”, according to E! Online.
She wants Fox’s suit dismissed and is seeking $25,000 from the star.

Keys Rallies Fans To Join Protest Against Sex Trafficking Ads
Nov 14th
Alicia Keys has called on her fans to join in a protest campaigning against a New York newspaper’s online classified pages, amid allegations the listings allow the facilitation of sex trafficking.

The Empire State of Mind singer has thrown her support behind officials at the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW), who are planning to gather outside the Manhattan headquarters of the Village Voice publication on Wednesday and call on website editors to block sex advertisements on Backpage.com, which reportedly promote prostitution.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, Key writes, “What if these were your daughters? SO CRAZY! Please stand up with CATW against sex trafficking on Nov 16 in NYC”.
It’s not the first time Village Voice has been targeted by a celebrity – in June, Ashton Kutcher took aim at the newspaper’s editors, accusing them of “facilitating the sale of human beings” by publishing advertisements for escorts.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, Kutcher, who runs a foundation to tackle human trafficking, wrote, “Hey Village Voice… maybe you can help me… How much $ (money) did your ‘escorts’ in you (sic) classifieds on Backpage make last year?
“How many of your girls selling themselves in your classifieds are you doing age verification on?”

Jackson’s Former Manager Opens Up About Drug Use In New Book
Nov 14th
Michael Jackson’s drug use is set to become a talking point again thanks to a revealing new book by the King of Pop’s former personal assistant and manager.
/img
Frank Cascio’s My Friend Michael: An Ordinary Friendship with an Extraordinary Man details the tragic pop star’s use of propofol – the drug that cost him his life in 2009.
In the book, Cascio claims Jackson had been taking the powerful anesthetic to help him battle insomnia for at least a decade before his death, according to the Associated Press.
Last week, the singer’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a jury unanimously found him guilty of using the drug to treat Jackson.
Cascio, a longtime friend of the late star, reveals Jackson’s drug use began in the mid-1980s when he started taking painkiller Demerol. Jermaine Jackson recently confessed his brother had become addicted to Demerol in 2001.
The King of Pop’s former manager states Jackson had already turned to harder drugs by then, explaining he witnessed Jackson taking propofol in 1999 after he was injured in a fall.
Cascio confesses he paid off Jackson’s doctors and put his own name on prescriptions to hide the singer’s medical problems, and when it became a big problem he turned to his friend’s brothers for help – but the Thriller singer refused to heed their counsel.
The author reveals Jackson was late for one of his 2001 anniversary shows in New York because he was drugged in his dressing room.

Jenkins’ Brooch Stolen
Nov 13th
Classical star Katherine Jenkins was left heartbroken after a $40,000 brooch loaned to her was stolen on Saturday ) – just hours before she was due to wear it onstage.

The Welsh singer agreed to wear the black diamond and ruby poppy, which commemorates Britain’s soldiers, for her performance at the British Legion Festival in London’s Royal Albert Hall.
But Jenkins was forced to go onstage without the pricey pin after it was snatched from a female assistant transporting it to the concert venue.
The blonde beauty admits she was shocked to hear about the theft, and hopes the designers will recreate another brooch.
Speaking on U.K. TV show Something For The Weekend, she says, “I’d been asked if I would wear it because they were donating the proceeds to the British Legion so I was looking forward to wearing it. Then a gentleman came to my room just before I was supposed to go on and said, ‘It’s literally been stolen out of the lady’s bag that’s been in charge of it all day.’ It’s such a shame. But I hope they can make another one so that they can still keep the proceeds for the charity.”
Bosses at the Royal British Legion immediately informed police and have appealed for the thief to return the jewelry.
A spokesperson says, “It all happened very quickly. The thief didn’t take anything apart from the brooch which makes us think that she may have been targeted… We are hoping that the thief will realize that something valuable has been taken away from the nation, something that was supposed to help injured servicemen.”
