Dench’s Sadness At Only Having One Child
Nov 16th
Dame Judi Dench will always regret not having more children as her attempts to adopt were turned down.
/img
The Shakespeare In Love star became a first-time mother to daughter Finty at the age of 37, and she and late husband Michael Williams longed for another baby.
Dench was unable to fall pregnant again and the couple subsequently looked into adoption, but officials denied their request and the actress admits not having a second child is “the only regret” she holds in life.
She tells Britain’s Yours magazine, “I wish we’d had lots more children. That’s the only regret I have. But I was older and it didn’t happen.
“We tried to adopt a child and they didn’t like it because we were over 40 – and Michael was a Catholic and I was a Quaker. It obviously wasn’t to be.”
Dench also opens up about her early days as a mother in the interview, revealing, “I’d had a daughter and having a family I wanted to be at home. Michael wouldn’t let me stop (working), though. So in the beginning I tried to arrange things so I was with her during the day and going to the theater in the evening when she was in bed. Later on, when she went to school, I could do things like television during the day to be with her in the evening.”

Gallagher: ‘Holmes Demanded I Cut Her From Website Video’
Nov 13th
Noel Gallagher was left flabbergasted backstage at the Late Show With David Letterman earlier this week when actress Katie Holmes asked to be deleted from video footage the rocker’s pal shot.
/img
The former Oasis star was about to make his debut as a solo artist on Letterman’s late-night show at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York when he had an unexpected request from a fellow guest on the show.
In a post on his blog, he writes, “We literally bumped into that top Scientologist Katie Holmes on the way into the studio. We came out of the lift (elevator) and BANG, there she was.
“Now at this point my mate, and friend of the stars, Scully was doing a bit of filming for my website and managed to capture the moment. She did look a bit miffed (annoyed) at the various North-West accents and some vigorous handshaking, but there was no need to send one of her people over to demand the video be deleted!!!! Un-f**kin’-believable.”
But Gallagher’s appearance on the program wasn’t all unpleasant – he got to meet heroes Steve Martin and ZZ Top star Billy Gibbons.
The rocker writes, “Our dressing room was next door to none other than the legendary comedian Steve Martin… He only stuck his head round the door to say hello! What an honor!!! We talked banjo and he had a bit of banter with the lads. Top, top man. Funny as f**k!!
“As showtime approached we got a little visit from that fella Billy Gibbons from that band ZZ TOP. Another top little dude.”
Gallagher is currently on his first solo tour on North America. His appearance on The Late Show aired on Thursday.
